As Curator and Gallery Manager for London’s The Baldwin Gallery, from 2015 to the July 2019, my responsibilities have ranged from artistic design to management and sales. The Baldwin curated dialogue between nature and culture and art, with a special focus on indigenous North American art, and unusually merged the functions of commercial gallery and curatorial team collaborating with major institutions. I was with The Baldwin from its conception and helped to oversee and hone its vision

I am grateful as a curator and gallerist at the beginning of her career to wear so many hats and be widely exposed to the many facets of the art world. I have learned that my passion lies in feeling challenged and engaged in collaborative, creative work. As of July 2019, due to a change in the owner’s visa status, The Baldwin will be reducing its programming.  I am therefore seeking new opportunities in the museum and gallery sector, ranging from curatorial roles, to gallery management, project management, events management or design.

Having had the rare opportunity to help guide a London start-up gallery and curatorial team from conception to success,  I have worked between big ideas, logistics and minute details. In so doing, I have become extremely comfortable independently handling projects, while paying keen attention to detail, and delivering a smooth and professional experience from initial brainstorming to final production. I am a great fan of working in collaborative team environments, in a give-and-take leadership position.

Curatorial experience includes co-managing business relationships with museums, cultural institutions, arts organisations and collectors in the UK and abroad, primary management of sales, shipments, consignments and loans, contracts, inventory cataloguing, exhibition research, proposals, co-management of staff and volunteers, trades people, domestic and international collaborators and artists.

I was solely responsible for all visual design and crafting of The Baldwin’s website, newsletters, proposals, catalogues, posters and publications and have designed proposals for the Canadian Embassy (Canada House), for London’s National Maritime Museum, The Horniman Museum, and for Weltkulturen Frankfurter Buchmesse and I have produced a Santander grant-winning film on behalf of The Baldwin.

I have worked with leading Native American and Canadian artists, as well as prestigious European artists like Royal Academician, Tim Shaw. As a curator, I co-curated all exhibitions and events at The Baldwin. These ranged from intimate in-gallery exhibitions and interdisciplinary salons, featuring acclaimed international musicians and writers, to a major Sonny Assu solo exhibition at Canada Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London. I took the lead in establishing a collaboration with Eurostar and The h Club, and managing a Baldwin exhibition at Eurostar Premier Business Lounge, Gard de Nord, Paris. Further collaborations have included The National Maritime Museum, The Horniman Museum, The Wellcome Trust, The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, The h Club and Blacks Club, London, Linlithgow Burgh Halls, Edinburgh, IKON Gallery, Birmingham, Equinox Gallery, Vancouver, Canada, and Art Mur, Berlin.
