"Galisteo", a small mountainside town in New Mexico, USA, holds a special place in my heart. This is not just because it is where my wonderful mother now resides, but because its dry desert landscape and its expansive and ever-changing skies have sparked in me a renewed love for the countryside. This is something I thought impossible, being such a city girl. But perhaps countryside is the wrong word, for New Mexico is truly wilderness. This print is a minimalist rendition of the breathtaking view from my mother's windows (pictured) looking over the Ortiz Mountains, the first in a series inspired by the American Southwestern desert.
